Second Stage Round 4: Marineros - Indios 89-81

Very important is a road loss of third rankedIndios (9-8) against fifth ranked Marineros (9-9) on Wednesday night. Visiting Indios were defeated by Marineros in a tough game in Puerto Plata 81-89 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Indios. Marineros players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Indios ' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Sydney Curry (203-2000, college: GCU) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 8 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and forward Rich Polanco (203-1997, college: S.Dakota) who added 9 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Luismal Ferreiras (200-2003) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Michael Bryson (193-1994, college: UCSB) scored 19 points. Five Indios players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marineros moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Titanes. Indios at the other side keep the third position with eight games lost.
